Pampalite

The PAMPALITE is the brightest, softest and most durable case light and not just another “light in a case.”  The award winning PAMPALITE is easily the most advanced location fluorescent light available because TWO light heads join together into ONE rugged, transportable case light!  It is the result of considerable research and development by its originator Owen Stephens SOC, a Hollywood freelance cameraman and DOP, who found existing products cumbersome and inadequate for location use.  Thinking there must be a better way, Owen devised the PAMPALITE concept of performance, innovation and portability.  This concept has been refined by Photon Beard to give a uniquely versatile lighting tool for stills, ENG/video, television and film location lighting.

The Pampalites use true 0% - 100% dimming of 55W compact fluorescent lamps (daylight or tungsten color temp.) mounted in carefully designed curved reflectors to give the brightest and softest light of any other portable or case light fluorescent.  Any brand of compact fluorescent tubes may be used with confidence of color accuracy such as Kino Flo®, General Electric®, Osram® among many others.  This is supplemented by individually adjustable barndoors, which can be reversed to give a matt black surface, a silver reflective surface or removed completely either separately or together.  The doors are fitted with gel clips on both sides and fabric egg crates are also available in a choice of angles to offer further control.

Designed with being able to travel easily and withstand the rigors of airline travel, the lamphead and storage shells share the same shell profile, so just simply lock the two heads together for transit.  Pampalite shells are also molded from a tough, lightweight composite material with a positive location, safe-stack design. 

Other features include a DMX 512 option (special order) and the “Ganging” feature which allows up to four PAMPALITES to be joined together to make one large soft source.
