Ever wondered about the Prolycht Orion 300FS?Check this out @chaseshamliandp"The prolycht Orion 300FS is an absolutely incredible light. For Black Friday I bought 3 of them, ended up selling the third, and am already regretting it. This thing hits it out of the park in every possible way. The white point at 5600K and 3200K are both nearly perfect, it’s super accurate, very easy to use, has a bowens mount, a ridiculous kelvin range, runs at full brightness off two 14.8v gold mounts, and has the most saturated colors I’ve ever seen from an LED.Additionally, the softbox is built really well, and did not change the dUV at all. The diffusion for it did warm the light by about 300K but it's nothing you can’t fix easily with the turn of a knob. The fresnel lens for it may be its only real weakness. It certainly works as an intensifier (I metered 1100fc at 10’ in the center of the beam!) but it doesn’t flood/spot very well, the fall off isn’t super smooth, the barn doors are annoyingly hard to take on and off, and the barn door cuts are really weak. All that said, I’m hearing that some adapters are coming in the future that will improve the usability of the fresnel, so I look forward to seeing what they can do.The only other critique I have for this light is that I wish the softbox came with an inner baffle. Due to the tighter beam angle of the COB, it doesn’t fill the diffusion as well as it could. That said, I didn’t notice much of a hot spot with my meter. All in all, worth every penny!Full test data: Taken with my sekonicglobal C-800 and 858DOrion 300FS: Reflector at 10’, AC PowerKelvin at 5600K on Ballast – 5569KDelta UV = -0.0016FC – 325fcF-Stop (800iso, 24fps, 180° shutter) – 12.7TM-30 – Rf94, Rg103SSI (D55) – 72 Orion 300FS: Reflector at 10’, AC PowerKelvin at 3200K on Ballast – 3331KDelta UV = 0.0006FC – 306fcF-Stop (800iso, 24fps, 180° shutter) – 12.7TM-30 – Rf93, Rg99SSI (tungsten 3200K) – 80 "?
