ARRI S30-RP Tungsten Overview
ARRI expands its LED lineup with the introduction of the SkyPanel S30-RP Tungsten LED Remote Phosphor Softlight, finished in their signature blue and silver. This versatile softlight is supported by a manual aluminum yoke and features a compact panel surface area of 14 x 11.8 inches, making it ideal for mobile and on-the-go applications. The S30-RP offers powerful lighting output equivalent to a 1,000W tungsten soft light, while drawing only 240W of power, making it both efficient and effective.
The SkyPanel S30-RP employs remote phosphor technology, where a 3,200K phosphor panel is excited by powerful native LEDs to achieve precise color temperature output. This method delivers exceptional color rendition, with a high CRI of 98, and produces a light that is approximately 10% brighter than the color-tuneable S30-C version. Additionally, the use of remote phosphor panels simplifies the electronics, resulting in a lower price point.
Advanced Features and Control
The S30-RP comes with a 3,200K phosphor panel as standard, but optional panels are available in 2,700K, 4,300K, 5,600K, and 6,500K, each offering high CRI values and consistent color quality. A Chroma Green panel is also available for specialized applications. The fixture offers 0-100% dimming, controllable via the onboard interface or remotely through DMX or LAN connections. The USB-A port allows for easy firmware updates, ensuring the light remains up to date with the latest features.
Superior Light Quality
The SkyPanel S30-RP is renowned for its true soft light quality, providing smooth, even illumination with a homogeneous beam field. This makes it ideal for beauty lighting, as the light wraps around subjects without creating harsh shadows. The precise combination of diffusion panels, LED mixing chamber, and large surface area ensures excellent light quality and natural shadow rendering, free from multiple edges or color fringing.

The SkyPanel S30-RP is designed to be highly versatile, suitable for a wide range of lighting applications. It can operate on multi-voltage AC power (90-250 VAC) and also supports optional 23-36 VDC batteries for portable use. This makes it an excellent choice for both studio and location shoots. The fixture is built in Germany, using high-quality materials including an aluminum core and fiberglass-reinforced thermoplastics, ensuring it withstands the demands of daily production use. The LED light engine is designed for longevity, with a lifespan of up to 50,000 hours and is re-calibratable for maintaining color accuracy over time.
