ARRI S30-RP Tungsten Overview
ARRI continues to expand its LED lighting offerings with the introduction of the SkyPanel S30-RP Tungsten LED Remote Phosphor Softlight, featuring a robust blue/silver finish. The S30-RP is designed for versatility and precision, making it an ideal choice for both studio and mobile applications. Supported by a pole-operated aluminum yoke, the light?s compact 14 x 11.8″ panel surface area provides powerful, consistent illumination, equivalent to a 1,000W tungsten soft light, while drawing only 240W.
The SkyPanel S30-RP utilizes advanced remote phosphor technology, where a 3,200K phosphor panel is excited by native LEDs, producing precise color temperature output with an impressive CRI of 98. This method results in 10% more brightness than the color-tuneable S30-C version and simplifies the internal electronics, reducing the overall cost without compromising performance.
Advanced Features and Control
The S30-RP ships with a 3,200K remote phosphor panel, providing tungsten-balanced light that is ideal for a variety of professional applications. Additional phosphor panels are available in 2,700K, 4,300K, 5,600K, and 6,500K, each offering excellent color rendering with high CRI values. A Chroma Green panel is also available for specialized uses. The light can be dimmed from 0-100% using the onboard controls or remotely via DMX or LAN connections, offering flexibility in different lighting setups. A USB-A port allows for convenient firmware updates, ensuring the light remains up to date with the latest advancements.

It operates on multi-voltage AC power (90-250 VAC) and also supports optional 23-36 VDC batteries for mobile use, making it a flexible solution for on-the-go shoots. The light is constructed with a combination of an aluminum core and fiberglass-reinforced thermoplastics, ensuring it can withstand the rigors of daily production use. The LED light engine is designed for a long lifespan of up to 50,000 hours and is re-calibratable, ensuring consistent color accuracy over time.
