The Claypaky Skylos pushes beyond traditional searchlight design with a compact IP66-rated moving head built for versatility across touring, large-scale events, theme parks, and fixed installations. At its core is a custom 300W white laser source, engineered for high output, reliability, and safety within a fully sealed system. Its marine-grade C5-M protection ensures durability in harsh environments, while an integrated fan system prevents condensation on the front lens, maintaining stable beam quality and performance.
More than a standard searchlight, Skylos delivers advanced creative capabilities. It features a customizable gobo slot and a multi-layer prism system, including a rotating 6-sided prism, a rotating 5-sided linear prism, and a fixed 4-sided prism that can be combined to generate complex visuals such as the Moonflower effect and other unique mid-air projections. The laser-based optical system produces razor-sharp beams with exceptional contrast, supported by a 15-color wheel optimized to retain brightness. Additional tools include a 5° frost filter, 24-bit digital dimmer, and digital stop-strobe effect for dynamic programming.
Control and setup are straightforward with a front LCD display and 5-button interface, along with rear connections for 5-pin DMX I/O, powerCON I/O, and EtherCON. The fixture supports DMX, Art-Net, RDM, and sACN (20 channels) and is fully compatible with CloudIO. Installation is simplified with included Omega brackets and a powerCON cable.
Powered by a custom 300W white laser engine, Skylos delivers over 250 million candela output through an 11.8" tempered glass front lens, ensuring perfect beam collimation and uniformity. Its beam range spans 0.5° to 5° (10:1 linear edge), producing a dense, saturated beam with no visible hotspots thanks to its advanced optical system.
Built for extreme conditions, Skylos operates with an internal heating system from -40°F to 113°F, maintaining performance in demanding environments. Despite consuming only 600W, it achieves output comparable to a 4000W Xenon lamp, offering outstanding efficiency.
The sealed laser module ensures safe operation, delivering a beam that is bright, evenly distributed, and minimally heat-generating—eliminating risk to nearby surfaces. With an approximate 30,000-hour lifespan and minimal performance decay, Skylos provides long-term reliability and strong return on investment for professional applications.
